Howard originally trained as a farm business consultant with the Milk Marketing Board, up until in 1982 when he set-up his own business. He has a wealth of experience within the industry and is now senior agricultural consultant at HarveyHughes.

He is a fellow of the British Institute of Agricultural Consultant (BIAC) and the British Grassland Society (BGS) and Past Chairman of the Cheshire Grassland Society (CGS). As well as being involved in many other groups and societies Howard enjoys undertaking research projects and has recently attended the international grassland congress in China.

His main expertise covers business management, grassland performance, dairy cow management, and ruminant nutrition. He is also a specialist in losses resulting from damage to livestock and crop losses.

Howard is part of the expert witness section of BIAC and have covered many cases regarding, defective feeds, defective nutritional advice (ruminants), crop damage, rural planning, access disputes involving livestock, defective installation of equipment, arbitration, pipeline compensation, and divorce settlements.

Howard is FACTS qualified.
